Yoak is a relatively rare last name and having held the yoak.com domain for about three years I occasionally hear from others to whom I'm related. It occurs to me that someone could stumble upon this site looking for other Yoaks or that some Yoaks may come here looking for more info about the family. I'll start collecting what info I have here.
My Immediate Family
The six of us are all living in Florida right now. Write via email for phone numbers, addresses or other means of contact.
Other Related Yoaks
I'll be making an effort to reach those who have contacted me to see if they'd like to be listed here. If you are a Yoak and would like to be mentioned here, please write.

My name is Susan Yoak Giles and I am working on a genealogy of the Yoak
family (derived from the German surname "Joch"). I am the daughter of John
Wesley Yoak (1924-1972), who was the son of Creed Yoak (1886-1952), who was
the son of Isaac Yoak (1829-1908), who was the son of Elias Yoak
(1801-1855), who was the son of John Yoak (abt. 1770-1842). I am anxious
to share information with others working on the Yoak line. My email
addresses are susan_giles@byu.edu (work) or sygiles@aol.com (home).

Family Tree
There exist at least two family trees for my family stretching back about 200 years. I was handed down a copy of one which I am sure I still have somewhere. Don Norman of Indiana (?) produced the other I know about some time back. It is available here. This is hosted by the RootsWeb Genealogical Data Cooperative and is specifically maintained by The Hacker's Creek Pioneer Descendants which "is an organization dedicated to the history and genealogy of West Virginia concentrating on central West Virginia."
